DCO Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

This is Dr. Cassarella, and I hope you and your family are safe and well! Based on a strong recommendation from the American Dental Association for all dental offices, we have temporarily closed our office. We are evaluating week-by-week and we will reach out individually if your already scheduled appointment is impacted by this closure. The good news is that because of the advanced technologies we use in our orthodontic appliances, your treatment will continue to progress even though we aren't able to see you right now.

Our team is working remotely and our regular phone lines will be open daily from 8am-3pm. In addition, we will be available to handle any urgent needs that you may have after hours. You can call me on my cell phone at 570–956-4768, so that I can assist you. We are so sorry for this inconvenience, but want you to be assured that the safety and health of our family of patients and our team is our top priority. Thank you.

Resources:

Invisalign

1. Change any remaining aligners you have every 3 weeks and then continue to wear the last aligner we gave you at your previous visit as close to full time as possible.
2. Keep your immediate previous aligner as a backup, and you can use denture cleansing tablets to freshen and clean your aligners.

Expanders

Please complete the number of turns on expanders as prescribed at your last visit, then stop turns. We will evaluate at the next visit to see if additional turns are needed.

Discomfort/Urgent Needs/Emergencies

Fortunately, very few things constitute a true orthodontic emergency. Examples would be facial trauma or a loose expander that is interfering with eating. Most other issues, including loose braces or poking wires, can be helped from home with our assistance. As you know, we pride ourselves on taking care of our patients and delivering an exceptional patient experience. In typical situations, we work to fit you right into our schedule when any problem arises. As you know, we are working in a bit of a different climate for the next few weeks. Please see links below for videos created by one of Dr. Cassarella's colleagues that describes and illustrates how to deal with specific problems that may cause discomfort:
